MCLEOD GANJ, India, 8 December 2009 Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam of White Crane Films announces the completion of their film The Sun Behind the Clouds: Tibet's Struggle for Freedom.

This 79-minute documentary examines the current situation of Tibet against the backdrop of the momentous events of 2008—the spring uprising in Tibet, the march to Tibet in India, the Beijing Olympics and the failed talks between the Chinese government and the Dalai Lama's representatives.

It highlights the sharpening debate between the Dalai Lama's efforts to find a solution to the issue of Tibet through dialogue and compromise, and the growing voices within the Tibetan community calling for a return to the goal of independence.

The film was premiered at the first-ever DMZ Korean International Documentary Festival in Paju, South Korea on 24 October.
