Welcome to the 12th edition of the Free Spirit Film Festival. FSFF is calling for films of any length in any genre: drama, documentary, animation, sci-fi, comedy, music videos, and experimental for the 2016 season from 27 to 31 October. The form for submissions opened on the first of May.
Being the first and original yearly film festival of McLeod Ganj, the Festival has grown in importance and prestige over the years, getting film submissions from around the world.
Over the years FSFF has fulfilled the ever-growing appetite for new art and culture in this small and picturesque Himalayan village by screening compelling, inspiring, and thought-provoking films from all over the world.
The Festival encourages up-and-coming independent filmmakers. We have become the window for the Himalayan people to the riches of film from around the world, and a celebration of cinematic creativity and innovation. The Festival is a door for new talents and established filmmakers to reach out to a unique audience of curious locals as well as international travellers.
The Festival is perhaps one of the smallest film festivals in the world, but with a high-quality presentation and a personal touch by our experienced team members makes the festival memorable for filmgoers and rewarding for filmmakers. We may be small but our visibility is big on the film festival circuit. You’ll want your film to be screened here, have a shot at awards in 13 categories, and be seen beyond the Festival through our programme booklet and great web presence.
Looking forward to some exciting films for the Festival.
